A man was slashed with a knife tonight when he encountered an intruder while he was checking his mother’s vacant house in East Grand Forks.
According to Police Sgt. Mike Anderson, the victim called in about 9:30 p.m. today and said he had stopped in to check on his mother’s house while she is in the hospital.
“It was supposed to be vacant,” Anderson said. “But he caught an intruder inside, there was some kind of struggle and the victim was cut with a knife.”
