A Litchfield man was arrested early today after he broke down the door of a residence while the people inside were sleeping, according to St. Cloud police.

The residents were able to detain the man until police arrived. The burglary happened at about 3:25 a.m. in the 700 block of 32nd Avenue North, according to police.
Officers arrested Chase Alan Thompson, 21. He was taken to Stearns County Jail, where is being held for investigation of first-degree burglary, fifth-degree assault and damage to property.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
